Introduction. Vocabulary plays a central role in language learning because words are the basic units that allow learners to express ideas, emotions, and information. For primary school students, learning vocabulary is often the first step toward developing communication skills in a foreign language. However, traditional teaching methods that rely mainly on memorization and repetition may not always be effective for young learners. Modern educational approaches emphasize the importance of interactive and student‑centered learning. With the development of modern pedagogical technologies, teachers now have naccessry accsess to a wide range of tools and strategies that make vocabulary learning more engaging and meaningful. These technologies include multimedia presentations, educational games, online platforms, interactive whiteboards, and mobile applications. Primary school students learn best through visual materials, physical activity, and social interaction. Therefore, integrating modern pedagogical technologies into vocabulary teaching can help teachers create lessons that correspond to the cognitive and emotional characteristics of young learners. This article aims to explore effective methods of teaching English vocabulary in primary classrooms using modern pedagogical technologies and to analyze their benefits in the language learning process.

Methods. The research uses several methods to analyze vocabulary teaching strategies in primary education. First, a literature review was conducted to examine scientific publications and methodological studies related to vocabulary teaching and modern pedagogical technologies. Second, a comparative analysis method was used to compare traditional vocabulary teaching techniques with technology‑supported methods. This comparison helps identify which strategies are more effective for primary school learners. Third, observation of classroom practices and analysis of different teaching techniques were used to evaluate the practical application of these methods. The study focuses on interactive learning strategies such as game‑based learning, multimedia tools, digital applications, and collaborative activities. These research methods help provide a comprehensive understanding of how modern pedagogical technologies can improve vocabulary learning in primary classrooms.

Results. The analysis shows that modern pedagogical technologies significantly enhance the process of vocabulary learning in primary classrooms. Several effective methods were identified during the research. One of the most effective approaches is game‑based learning. Young learners naturally enjoy playing games, and educational games help them learn vocabulary in an enjoyable way. Digital games, word puzzles, matching activities, and role‑playing tasks allow students to practice new words repeatedly without feeling bored.

Another important method is the use of multimedia resources. Visual materials such as pictures, animations, and short videos help students understand the meaning of new words more easily. Multimedia presentations also improve students’ memory because they combine visual and auditory information. Interactive technologies such as smart boards and online learning platforms also play an important role in vocabulary teaching. These tools allow teachers to present words through images, sounds, and interactive exercises. Students can participate actively in the learning process by completing tasks and receiving immediate feedback.

Mobile learning applications are also becoming increasingly popular in language education. Many educational apps provide vocabulary games, pronunciation practice, and quizzes that help students learn new words outside the classroom. These tools support independent learning and increase students’ motivation.

Finally, collaborative learning activities supported by technology encourage students to communicate with each other using new vocabulary. Group tasks, digital storytelling, and interactive projects allow learners to apply vocabulary in meaningful contexts.

Discussion. The findings of the study indicate that modern pedagogical technologies provide significant advantages for vocabulary teaching in primary education. First, they increase students’ motivation and interest in learning English. Young learners are more likely to participate actively in lessons when technology and interactive activities are used.

Second, modern technologies support different learning styles. Some students learn better through visual materials, while others benefit from auditory or kinesthetic activities. Digital tools combine these elements and create a more inclusive learning environment.

Another important advantage is the development of communicative competence. When vocabulary is taught through interactive activities, students are more likely to use new words in real communication rather than simply memorizing them.

However, it is also important for teachers to use technology effectively. Pedagogical technologies should not replace the teacher’s role but should support teaching objectives. Teachers need proper training and methodological knowledge to integrate these tools successfully into their lessons.

In addition, it is necessary to select technologies that correspond to students’ age, language level, and learning needs. When used appropriately, modern pedagogical technologies can transform vocabulary teaching into an engaging and productive learning experience.

Conclusion. Vocabulary acquisition is a fundamental component of learning a foreign language, especially for primary school students. Traditional teaching methods alone are often not sufficient to maintain students’ interest and motivation. Modern pedagogical technologies provide innovative opportunities for improving vocabulary teaching in primary classrooms.

The study shows that methods such as game‑based learning, multimedia resources, interactive technologies, and mobile learning applications significantly enhance vocabulary learning. These approaches make lessons more engaging, improve memory retention, and encourage students to use new words in communication.

Therefore, integrating modern pedagogical technologies into vocabulary teaching is highly recommended for primary education. Teachers should continue exploring new digital tools and interactive strategies to create effective and motivating learning environments for young learners.
