The article analyzes the possibilities of using literary texts in English lessons in non-linguistic faculties of universities. The article examines the possibility and necessity of using foreign-language popular science texts in teaching a foreign language to first-years students of non-linguistic faculties of universities, as well as characterizing the style of scientific and popular science literature in English.

В статье анализируются возможности использования художественных текстов на уроках английского языка на неязыковых факультетах вузов. В статье рассматривается возможность и необходимость использования иноязычных научно-популярных текстов при обучении иностранному языку студентов первокурсников неязыковых факультетов вузов, а также дается характеристика стиля научной и научно-популярной литературы на английском языке.
